Here are a few enhancements to consider:
- easily define multiple icons per instance
support attributed text
- have optional checkbox per line
- slightly different icon-less dash lines
- selection should only select label, not whole line
- transparency should probably be indicated with high byte of color (for future smooth copositing of shadows) and be optional
