The intent of this page is to catalog limitations of the J implementation on the Pocket PC with suggested workarounds. The links (if they are implemented will provide mored detailed information on how to perform the workaround):

Missing Help Files

I noticed that many of the help files are missing, in particular the entries for the items listed in the Vocabulary on the Pocket PC return a page not found error when selected. The solution is to simply use ActiveSync to drag the missing help files from a desktop version of J, into the correct folder on the PPC.

Only One Ijs
There can only one ijs window open at a time. To get back to the ijx window the ijs window must be closed.
  • The ⊗ (or (X) ) button does not close the window, it minimizes. You can have more than one ijs windows. To switch between windows use your favorite task switcher. -- OlegKobchenko 2006-05-29 00:45:02

  • No F-keys
There are no F-keys as such on the Pocket PC. Pressing the CTRL followed by a number seems to work like F-keys. There does not seem to be an ALT key facility either. The big keyboard on the XV6700 does not seem to have either a CTRL or ALT key.
