J Debug Control Panel
Occasionally, when invoking debug mode in J under Windows, the control bar that appears will have blanks instead of informative pictures for the various buttons on the bar.
This is a known, unsolved problem. It probably has to do with random unavailability of certain Windows resources.
The solutions to this are to kill and restart the debugger, perhaps multiple times, until the bar appears properly; shutting down a few extraneous windows may or may not help. Or, you can use the following picture of what the buttons should look like as their functionality is intact. Only the mnemonic value of the pictures has been lost.
Run Step into Back Refresh Edit definition
Step over Forward View stack
Step out Stop name at cursor Clear
Run to cursor Stop Manager
Cut back Watch Manager Each hint (text) above should line up below the button to which it belongs.
